MUSICIANS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

IN THE COMMUNITY

VOLUNTEER AND BE A PART OF IT!

In this short documentary about MusicMends, meet Andrea and some volunteers as well as, hear what these shows mean to those on the mend.

MusicMends is lifting the spirits of those in need and always looking for talented artists. With over 550 performances since its inception, musicians have provided a much-needed connection to those in isolation.

Andrea Kelly, a music lover who personally experienced the healing power of music, founded MusicMends in 2018. Her goal was to bring live music to those on the mend in one Arlington nursing home/rehab center but has expanded the program to several other facilities in DC, Maryland & Virginia and recently connected with the Children's National Hospital to partner with Carnegie Hall's Weill Institute's Lullaby Projects. She has been paying it forward to the volunteers by connecting them with paid gigs, either at facilities with music-budgets, private events or other opportunities she learns about.

There has been an outpouring of support by the music community, both locally and nationally. Over 225 talented musicians have either played live concerts for groups of patients, performed individual bedside serenades or played online shows. Come be a part of it and give the gift of music.
Be part of a network of musicians making a difference in the community.
